We have Microsoft Outlook configured for all employee here in our firm.
I love working on Ubuntu and so I configured Evolution as mail client as for my interest. There are few employees working at client side. Due to remote company policy they cant access our FTP server. So what they are doing is sending mail to me and I need to ftp to their site and upload the ISO.
Now the interesting part arrives and I dont know how much it interest you.
Say, I have my Evolution configured in such a way that whenever there is a mail starting with "FreeBSD-GA-64Bit". It should be intelligent to perform the ftp for the particular ISO to their FTP site.
I remember that there was something I tried on Windows Outlook Client on receiving a mail "URGENT" it performs some operation of attaching a file and sending it back.".
Evolution rules support 'Run program' and 'Pipe to program' so there's no reason you couldn't create a rule to match on the subject, then create a script to perform any task you like when a matching email arrives.
