a little Mandrake urpmi help

I'm running Mandrake 9.2 AMD64 RC1. Apparently URPMI and the GUI software manager stuff in mandrake is supposed to automatically install dependancies for you? I've never gotten this to work. When I try to install a package (in this case proftpd) I use:

Code:
[root@localhost zac]# urpmi --auto proftpd
Some package requested cannot be installed:
proftpd-1.2.8-5.2.92mdk.i586 (due to unsatisfied libpam.so.0)
Why won't it install dependancies? I am a member of mandrake club and I've told mandrake that by putting in my user info during setup, which seemed to work find.

Thanks for the help.

OK here's anothing thing that may or may not be related. A Digital DJ rpm that I got from the mandrake website download place won't install and doesn't list any errors. Message follows:

Code:
Some package requested cannot be installed:
digitaldj-0.7.5-1.i386 (due to unsatisfied libgdk_pixbuf.so.2)
do you agree ?
Can anyone help me with that while they're at it?

Thanks agian.
