A few simple questions!

ping vacano.ssi.bg
connect: Invalid argument

why is this coming out?
when i try ping google.com it works just fine ?
I am using PPPOE to connect to my ISP might it be cus of this?

Also I would like to ask you how can i make my mouse scroll which is also a button to act as backspace ?

Can you tell me is Mplayer for X or console? cus i dl-ed it compiled it but it works in console only, how am i suppose to make it run as a visual application in my KDE?

Is there some application to make some kind of blinking activity to see when is my connection alive ? like dial-up conn in winblows?

Sorry for asking so much questions in one single post but i think it's better to maintain the forum clean ;)

TIA

Not sure why ping won't work - it is ok for me and I copied and pasted what you had. Are you sue there were no funny characters?

Mplayer can be gui as well - remember to compile with "--enable-gui".

I don't know of anything but some window managers may have an equivalent of lights.
