2 Ethernets

My pc have 2 ethernet cards (1 card - 1 onboard)
Card - RTL 8929AS
onboard - Sis 900....

Well, using RH8 no problems, both card was working.

Now i'm on Slack9 and the onboard cards seams that it's not recognised nor active. I guess that it's not active (netconfig only config the RTL), i want to known which commands or programs can i use to see my ip's (like win32 ipconfig), and in case how can i active both cards.

Thanks.

ifconfig will show you your IPs. You will need to be root or give the path. /sbin/ifconfig (I think) I don't use slack so I am not going to be much help with the second NIC. I am sure several others will be around to help out though.

a likely reason that one of your NICs is not active is that the driver module for it isn't loaded. frequently one distribution will include it by default while another won't. The RTL is pretty common, so it may be more likely supported "out of the box"
ifconfig will also activate the card once it's configured.

Thank you, i talk with a friend who known more than my and ifconfig was the command that i was looking for (like ipconfig in win32), with the deference that with ifconfig i could active this other ethernet.
Now seams that i can make it, just i have to put the rights ip parameters and sees how it works.

Thanks.
