Well, I ve already compiled the newest 2.6.2 kernel with a patch. But i've got one general problem- my Linux doesn't load any modules. My /etc/modules is empty. What could you advice me?

are you referring to modules.conf ?
if so (and i assume so) then do you try adding the modules to the file that you want loaded ?
i know mine is empty, other than the fact that when i installed my nvidia graphics drivers i have a line in it now, but if it wasn't for the graphics card, mine would be empty to ...
so since that its empty, doesn't mean your box is not loading modules ....

Actually, the file is /etc/modprobe.conf for 2.6 kernels.
Its almost similar to /etc/modules.conf.
So its sometimes ok to copy contents of /etc/modules.conf to /etc/modprobe.conf
Try copying contents of /etc/modules.conf to /etc/modprobe.conf
If any lines begin with "pre" or "post" , then remove the "pre" and "post" prefixes from /etc/modprobe.conf
