~Apache and Vsftpd~

Hi all I have been trying to figure this out for couple of months and now I have gived up, so plz help me. Sorry for my english.

I have redhat 9.0

I want to setup apache with vsftpd, so user can upload he´s page to his dir.
this is from httpd.conf
<Directory /home/*/public_html>
AllowOverride FileInfo AuthConfig Limit
Options MultiViews Indexes
Order allow,deny
Allow from all
</Directory>
no problem there I can go to this dir on the web.

I created .htpasswd and all that some time ago and that was no problem .

but I can not get vsftpd to work with user and pass and log into users dir I am wondering where to put the user.
Do I just create them in users and groups and add there a user and do I use sbin/nologin or bin/bash.
I have disabled anonymous_enable=NO

can not post urls. so changed to http-
sample:
http-blabla.com is the site
http-blabla.com/~user1
.........................../~user2
and so on.
I want that the user can go to ftp-blabla.com and write user and pass and then be moved to he´s dir ftp-blabla.com/~user1

HOW ???

In system tools services I cant start or stop vsftpd It says you have to enable xinetd first blablabla. In terminal I do vsftpd start then comes
oops 500 cant access the conf. file blablabla

plz help me

Could any one please help me with my problem using vsftpd ( on RedHat Linux9), specifically to set the correct configuration values so anonymous as well as local users could login ?.
As anonymous, I can login successfully and being put in /var/ftp (default) directory although I put /var/ftp/pub/upload in the conf file. Can't cd to change directory.
As local user, I can't get access to the /home/ftp-docs (home directory), Get 530 Login incorrect error.

Thanks
Raj

Have you had a look at the various example setups and .conf files at this link:
ftp://vsftpd.beasts.org/users/cevans...1.2.2/EXAMPLE/

Seems like you need a combination of INTERNET_SITE and VIRTUAL_USERS

Give the README files a gander...should help you out.

Here's another reference to apache and vsftpd:
http://www.redhat.com/docs/manuals/e...ual/ref-guide/

and another:
