yellowdog linux pppd + macos 6 + null modem

ok.. to be more specific, i have two macs.. one running yellowdog linux, the other running MacOS 6, i would like the mac to be able to acces my tcp network, something i could do with macos 9 and macos 6, however i would like to do this in linux... i know linux can act as a ppp server (pppd), and this can be done with a null modem (i am currently doing this between one machine and my laptop, both linux) the question is how can i do this with macos 6 and linux? Any suggestions would be appreciated.. thanks.
