wireless laptop to pc with cable internet

I need to get my laptop connected to the internet via my pc (linux or *bsd) that is connected to internet with cable modem.
Wireless is 802.11g bcw4318 and works well on Windows.
Cable modem is connected it main pc that I switch between linux and OpenBSD. What hardware is needed for the pc so we can use the laptop to connect to the internet?
The laptop has to be in a different room quite often, so I don't want to run a cable for 50-60 feet.

Get a router..

Not to be "nit picking" but make sure it is a Wireless router.

Also, with my luck I would have bought a regular router, not wireless

ordered a Linksys WRT54GL
