wine doors and networkmanager

Trying to install wine-doors which apparently needs networkmanager
to access their repositories so I installed networkmanager and
networkmanager-pptp, however there doesn't seem to be any easy
way to make networkmanager recognize and use my existing dialup
modem, which works fine for everything else. Could anybody point
me to a howto or tutorial?

What searches have you done -- Google, LQ, other?

I've been googling around for a couple of weeks and trying stuff to get
past this, but finally gave up and went back to my old winetools setup
which works fine. I guess wine-doors is going to stick with the network-
manager only crowd and leave us oldfashioned ppp dialup types to fend for
ourselves. Glad I saved my old setup files.

I meant specific Google searches, preferably one per line so that any quotes are known to be part of the search. For instance, which of these did you try:
wine doors
wine doors howto
"wine doors"
"wine doors" howto
networkmanager
networkmanager howto
wine doors networkmanager
wine doors networkmanager howto
"wine doors" networkmanager
"wine doors" networkmanager howto
I could double the length of that list by adding 'dialup' to each entry.
Same Q & list for LQ & Wikipedia.
  • When you are looking for GNU/Linux info., do you always use Google Linux?
  • Have you bookmarked it?
  • Have you embedded it in you browser's address/"location" bar? (You can do that quite easily in Konqueror.)

I think I must have tried all those you listed with many variations
including "dialup", "wine-doors with the hyphen" etc., with the possibilities increasing geometrically with each variation before giving up. Anyway, thanks for the input!

See software dependencies, I'd say most installs should have everything needed.
