Why wont you stay connected?

I have finaly got my LT Win Modem to work after about 2 weeks of being stupid... But dont let that make you think everything is fine, because it isnt! I can dail but then it disconects and redails. It does this over and over until i quit. btw im connecting with wvdial... well if you need more details this is what it says once i connect:

[root@localhost root]# wvdial &
[1] 1396
[root@localhost root]# --> WvDial: Internet dialer version 1.53
--> Initializing modem.
--> Sending: ATZ
ATZ
OK
--> Modem initialized.
--> Sending: ATDT605-5754
--> Waiting for carrier.
ATDT605-5754
CONNECT 26400 V42bis
--> Carrier detected. Starting PPP immediately.
--> Starting pppd at Mon Jul 21 22:30:54 2003
--> pid of pppd: 1397
--> Disconnecting at Mon Jul 21 22:31:04 2003
--> The PPP daemon has died: A modem hung up the phone (exit code = 16)
--> man pppd explains pppd error codes in more detail.
--> Try again and look into /var/log/messages and the wvdial and pppd man pages
for more information.
--> Auto Reconnect will be attempted in 5 seconds

Hope you can help me, if so many thanks!

What's your /etc/ppp/pppscript say? You might just need to raise the value of TIMEOUT. 16 is your modem timing out, basically.
