What exactly is "nslookup" command?


Hi guys,
For what purpose does "nslookup" command should be used?Please give me examples.

See man nslookup and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nslookup

You can also use "host" instead eg. host www.distrowatch.com (I thought "nslookup" was being deprecated?)
