WebDav folder NOT under Document Root? Possible?
Is it possible to have a webdav folder NOT be under Document Root? If so how do I set this up?
I have webdav set up (Debian, Apache 1.3). The Document Root in Apache is set to /var/www/ Right now I have a webdav folder set up under that (/var/www/dav). However the drive this is on has relatively limited space. I would like to move my webdav folder to a second drive so I don't have to worry about space. The second drive is mounted at /mnt/sda1.
I have tried just creating symbolic links in the existing /var/www/dav folder ... but webdav won't follow sym links apparently. I tried changing the httpd.conf file to point the Dav folder to a new location ... but it is not under the Document Root so it is not under myurl.com/dav anymore.
Any thoughts, advice? How do I go about setting up webdav in a location outside of Document Root?

PS - I keep getting error messages when I post this saying I am not allowed to post a URL. Grrr.... I am NOT posting URLs, just including backslashes for directory locations. How annoying.
