vsftpd and DSL don't play well together

With my box behind a router with a cable-TV connection, vsftpd worked fine for internal and external users. Then I relocated and switched to DSL...suddenly vsftpd external-connection attempts time out...and don't even leave any tracks behind in vsftpd.log. Found one other post, several years old, in the forum with an identical issue but no replies. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.

Is this a different router for the DSL? I'm guessing the connections coming back for FTP are not being made. Could be the DSL provider blocking inbound SYN packets (to block "servers" ... implemented by people that think the world is all HTTP and maybe some POP/IMAP). Or it's a new router that isn't fully configured to track the port commands on the FTP control connection and map them back to the client. Or it's the same router by had these FTP configurations somehow associated with the previous provider's IP addresses.

*solved* vsftpd and DSL don't play well together

Forwarding port 20 (as well as port 21) did the trick. Thanks to SinShiva at Craigslist for the solution.
