"VFS:Busy inodes after unmount.Self-destruct in 5 seconds:have a nice day

Hi All,

We have installed clearcase on linux(7.3:2.4.18-4) mechineWe have nis environment also.
View server is working as NIS server .The vob server is a NFS client
Some times we are getting a message in our vobserver console as

Nfsd:Unexporting all file systems
VFS: Busy inodes after unmount. Self-destruct in 5 seconds. Have a nice
day...

Some times vobs are not mounted from the client. If you check the nfs service it is running. But if you try to restart the nfs it is taking toomuch time
Is it clearcase related problem?pls let me know the solution for it
Regards,
Satya

satya,

I don't have any experience with this problem (or clearcase at all), but you should what to check the nfs and autofs mailinglists at nfs.sourceforge.net. There was a thread about this error message. Quickly browsing it, I don't see a real answer, but you should read it yourself. Unfortunately sourceforge sucks at archive mailing lists. I can forward you the email from the list if you'd like. Private Message me with your email and I'll send them to you.

Are you using autofs at all?

Clearcase uses a kernel module that provides a filesystem, right? Perhaps you should contact them.

Good Luck,
chris
