Using squid as a proxy to send requests on to a pptp vpn link

Hi,

Need help and would like to know if this is possible.

My network uses a gateway of .1 on the ADSL modem. I've configure Squid and it works fine and passes all traffic out the .1 gateway and on to the internet.

I now want to establish a vpn connection with an external provider which will be a pptp link, creating a ppp0 interface and have squid use this new interface and link for it's primary path out the network.

I don't want to affect the rest of the systems talking out from .1, just want specific services to use the proxy and the alternate route out via the vpn.

Any suggestions on how to implement this?

Much appreciated.

As I understood , your server machine with Squid installed on it, has not only ethX uplink, but also a pptp one.
Look here: http://www.squid-cache.org/Doc/confi...going_address/ . I hope this option is what you need.

Thanks,

I'll look in to it further.

I was not sure if that would work considering the ip on the VPN can change.

I was hoping for something that would specify adaptor rather than address.

Will give it a go and let you know.

Cheers
