User just have a group when log on server

Hi all,

Well, something strange is happening and I really do not know why...

I got a small home-made intranet with a server (also gateway) and a client.

Here's the deal:
when I log on server, I log as myuser:mygroup
when I log on the client, I log as myuser:myuser

When I log on the client and server, I got the same /home directory, so I assume that client and server are talking about the same user.

when I type #groups on the shell, I could not find mygroup

when I make a mkdir or create a file on client, this one belongs to myuser:myuser, not to myuser:mygroup as I expected. On server works fine.

If I try to access something rwxrwx--- for root:mygroup, I got a access denied message.

How can I solve it? Must I register a new group on the client? Is it a misconfiguration of the client? What is missing?

Tks!

Maybe post specifics about server and client authentication methods, what app you're logging in with, y'know. Details?
