unix file attributes - windows exploder

There's a very nice description of how unix file information transfers to windows when browsing a linux box in a windows network. Reading this, it then seems hopeless that I'd be able to see all file permissions when browsing in windows (2k sp4) using "explorer" - attached to a linux host that serves samba to the workgroup.

But I thought i'd ask

I'm looking for a possible add-on to the windows exploder that will translate across and display the file permissions - and as a bonus even allow me to change them.

The problem is that filesystems use different designs for permissions.
The ext2 filesystem uses permissions divided in 3 groups, having both positive and negative effects.
NTFS used by windows 2000/XP uses a more complex and also more adaptable design.

My experience with windows is that it doesn't scale too well in respect to different filesystems and other techniques from other OS's. Linux on the other hand can handle a dussin or so filesystems right out of the box.
