Universal tun/tap device driver support

This is about an open-source VPN dialler that is kind of linked to through this university here;

However it says I need to enable Universal tun/tap device driver support. I looked through my current kernal config (2.4.22) but couldn't find that option.

Does anybody know what these crazy guys are talking about? By the way the link is in German**

Link:

**Sorry I lied; the link actually isn't in German I was thinking of something else.

Hey, I'm going through the same troubles. However I did something to enable this but I'm not sure anymore what. Since nobody answered your question I'll tell you how I probably got there: browsing through the 1000 printed pages before me the only thing possible must have been something to do with 'pump'. I know I did a commend (pump ?) and it gave this tun/tap error and a way to resolve it, I did it and it worked. Small chance this will help you but you never know.
Somewhere else here mentions it's int he network options. Sorry I can't help you further.

Please include your disribution....

If it supports rpm, look at www.rpmfind.net for the tun driver. I did install it on RH 7.X without recompiling the Kern... It loads as a module.

Good luck!
