Unable to ping win from sus and visa versa

Hi,

I am unable to ping my Suse 9 server from my win2k pc. If i ping the IP i get "request time out" however when i ping the name it resolves the ip but still "request time out". If i ping the win pc from my suse it doesn't do anything.

The funny thing is that the Suse is set up as the DNS and DHCP server. The win pc recieves the dhcp address correctly ?

Check if you have installed any firewall.
Check if you have blocked ICMP packets.
Check if DHCP assigns proper IP to client. Open ur win box and check for IP assigned by DHCP. Post the network configuration here so that others can check it out for any mistakes.
