I'm a newb and I've installed ubuntu 12.04 and I'm connected using ethernet but I cant get wireless connectivity. I've run some terminal commands that I saw in some other posts on this topic and I know my wireless card is detected. The network is listed but it wont connect after a couple minutes of trying. I've updated my kernal, but still nothing. I would be happy to run some terminal commands if someone would like to help. I've been struggling with this for a few days now and I don't think it's any of the normal things, but maybe I'm doing something wrong. Thanks for any help, cheers.

what is output of your lspci? we need to know your wireless card model,..

i would try with latest version of ubuntu or with distro that uses wicd for wireless networking instead..
