ubuntu ip changing on its own while running in vmware


hi all,


i have a ubuntu 9.04 dns,web server in a virtual machine using vmware it works great apart from when i get up in the morning and try to access it via the domain it doesnt work so i check ifconfig and the ip has changed even though in my interfaces file it says the one i set to it orginally , so with out touching any files i restart the network and it works this is every day


any ideas why this is

How did you setup the nic in vmware? Can we assume dhcp in ubuntu?
