time out on server

Hi all,

I know I've posted this question before. Yet my problem still exists.

The problem is, is that I can not access some web sites through my ADSL connection. I'm running Suse 7.3 and connect to the net via rp-pppoe. Most sites I ave no problem to get to. I can do a traceroute and ping and nslookup, yet I can not connect even using lynx. On eof the sites in question is www.leevalley.com.

I even learnt that my MTU may be too high at 1500, so I lowered it to the suggested value of 1492, and tried lower. Still couldn't connect. Other suggestions were that it may be iptables of suse_personal_firewall. I've tried to disable these and I still was not able to connect.

I've tried a dial-up with another Suse machine, and I haev no problems at all. The one things different is that I aven't yet configured iptables.

If there are any ideas or suggestions to try, please let me know.

Erik

Have you tried looking at the system log? If a firewall is the culprit, it should have the dropped packets logged in the system log...
