This account is not authorized to login from this station

I get the error message "This account is not authorized to login from this station" when attempting to connect either to a Samba share or join the XP machine to the domain. I have done a search on the forum as well as through google and the only thing I can see is that I should have encrypt passwords set to enable in my smb.conf file which I do.

What should I look for to correct this issue? I have set the root user up in the smbpasswd file and am attempting to use that user to join the machine to the domain. I could really use a little help with this one. If more information is needed, let me know what will be helpful.

Does connecting using a Linux box work?

If not, try running

smbclient -d 3 <rest of options>

and seeing where it fails
