telnet slowness - linux telnet vs windows telnet

Hi,

I have a Linux server that needs to telnet to 8080 port of a remote Linux server.
It takes around 10 seconds to establish telnet connection to this port or other ports like 22.
I have read that this maybe DNS reverse lookup for my ip on remote server.
Unfortunately I do not have any access to the remote serve to check it.
For test I disconnected server cable and connected to my laptop and set the same IP on its interface and tried with telnet utility from windows, but it connected without any delay.
I tested the same with linux telnet from my laptop but there was delay.
I need to know is there any difference between linux and windows telnet client in this regard.
Thanks in advance.

I think it is rather related to the different hostnames or the different host name resolutions (instead of the client itself)

You should test telnet service on local server, I tested the same with linux telnet from my laptop but there was delay.
I doubt 8080 telnet port, non-standard port, cause the issue.
