TCP throughput is much worse on SUSE than RHEL 6.2

I'm testing IPoIB performance on 2 Virtual Machines, which have same # of processors and amount of memory assigned to them. While running NETPerf TCP_STREAM test I've noticed that SUSE 12 SP2&3 has much lower TCP_STREAM performance, in fact much worse, from 9Gbit/s on RHEL 6.2, while only getting 2.5 Gbit/s on SUSE SP2/SP3. I've tried playing around with fine tuning TCP performance in general, processor affinity and w/r memory settings. What such great difference in TCP handling could there be between two of the distro's?

I'd start by reverting all tweaks, ensure both are in runlevel 3, no unnecessary services running and at a minimum compare VM guest kernel version, ethernet device driver, loaded modules and configuration, scheduler, net-related sysctls and configuration, routing, firewall.
