ssh2 client cannot connect errors.

im trying to connect to my computer lab machines to get some of my lab files and i cant connect using gftp, im pretty sure ive entered all the stuff correctly and it says this "error recieved wrong init string from server" altough occasionally it will say "RSA key fingerprint is (some letters and numberS) Are you sure you want to continue (yes/no)?" but i cant figure out how to say yes, i remember using putty in windows i had to accept the fingerprint to connect. does anyone have a cure for my problem or could recommend a better ssh2 client?

do u have a right public key on the remote server? if it's possible, try to start ssh in the remote side with "sshd -d" and to see what information will be shown.

By the way, are you using putty under windows now? It's ok for me to run putty under winme.
