SSH linux machine through PuTTy Window 7(wireless).
Hello,
I want to access my base machine that is having fedora 20. my fedora(192.168.1.36) machine is configured through lan behind Dlink 2750U , i have another machine(laptop) having window7(192.168.1.33) that is connected wirelessly to Dlink2750U . i want to access fedora machine through my laptop so, here are few things..
1) Both machines are able to ping each other.
2) Firewall is stop, iptables are flush,SELINUX disabled in linux machine.
3) firewall is disable in window machine.
BUT I AM NOT ABLE TO SSH MY FEDORA MACHINE IT SHOWS ACCESS DENIED.
i had tried all the possible settings in modem as well.
Is the fedora machine able to ssh to itself using both 127.0.0.1 and 192.168.1.36 for the address?
If it can't with either, then it's a firewall/sshd config issue on the Fedora machine
If it can with 127.0.0.1 but not with 192.168.1.36 then it could be a firewall issue or a networking issue on the Fedora machine
If it can with both, then it could be a firewall issue or a Windows/router issue
If it can't ssh to itself, you can use "ssh -vvv" to get more verbose output.
You can also check /var/log/secure (or whatever Fedora's equivalent is) for any related errors.
