Sockets..

hello friends..
I have just started with socket programming with linux.
Now , is it possible to communicate between a windows and a linux machine with the help of sockets?
If yes, then, does the code i've written for receiving data in linux work for wimdows as well or socket programming is different in case of windows?
Please help me out with this..

Since both are using the TCP/IP suite, hence can communicate. But you will have to make little changes in the program to run that in windows. B'coz the header files of windows and linux are different. Hence syntactically they are little different but conceptually there is no difference.
Have a look at some tutorial on socket programming in windows.
BTW which book are you following for socket programming ???

regards

Search on net. U will definitely get some for windows.
Beej guide is a good start (me too learnt from that only ), but its not sufficient. You must read "UNIX network programming vol. 1" by Richard Stevens.
