Hi,
i'm playing around with MRTG and wanted to check my interfaces' statistics.
unfortunatly, whenever i configure mrtg to check my own machine, every SNMP query fails.
It's not due to MRTG's config, as it has no problem to query my Cisco router
I tried to query directly with snmpwalk, and here's the result:
Code:
francois@lazarus:~$ snmpwalk -c public -v 2c localhost 1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.16.1

so, according to the first two tests, it looks like my snmp server on localhost doesn't know anything about its network interfaces... why?
do you know if I need some option in snmpd.conf or snmptrapd.conf?
maybe i lack some mibs, but i do have the /usr/share/snmp/mibs/IF-MIB.txt...
basically, i just installed the snmpd related deb packages, and i though that would be it...
that's NET SNMP v5.2.2 on a Debian testing
Can you help me on this one? I thought you only had to know what a community is to install snmp, but it looks like that's not enough!
