snmp config trouble

So I think I have pop3d working now, but I'm having trouble figuring out snmpd. I've been looking at the snmpd conf file, but it's quite confusing. I thought there was some kind of snmpdconf script that would set that up for me, but I can't seem to locate it. Is there such a script, or do I just need to read up more on snmpd? I'm just trying to get it running so I can send email, and by default it set to not let me do that. Anyone know what I should change, or where this supposed config script is?

are you running a mail server?
what mail client are you using?
what browser are you using?

are you running a mail server? umm... just the regular Redhat 9 stuff (sendmail, pop3, snmp), and they're all running
what mail client are you using? Outlook XP
what browser are you using? IE (I don't see how my browser comes into play here)
