SmoothWall and RoadWarrior
I'm presently using SmoothWall GPL 0.9.9 final-p18 as a gateway between our UK and Asian offices, and its working perfectly.
I now want to add a number of W2K roadwarrior clients with all the hassles of dynamically ISP assigned IP addresses to go with them. I know SmoothWall has an additional SmoothTunnel package to support this, but being a skinflint our IT department would rather not pay anything.
However, I believe I can do this by using FreeS/WAN which appears to be integrated with (or forms the basis of) SmoothWall - and I wouldn't mind betting that SmoothTunnel just sets up the configuration files for you.
My question is, can I perform the manual edits to the /var/smoothwall/vpn/ipsec files, or do I need to create another set in /etc as whenever I use the ipsec commands it complains about non-existant files?
There is a lot of garbage out there on the web regarding FreeS/WAN and RoadWarrior. Has anyone found (or has created) any useful information on running/configuring this with SmoothWall, especially regarding the creation and use of RSA keys on Linux?
