Slackware / Windows network

hi people,

i want to be able to view and get files from my desktop pc (windows) on my laptop i got slack and windows. when i am on slack i can ping my windows desktop pc but i have no idea how to get files or view them.

when i boot with windows on laptop i can share files but no idea how it works with linux.

i am using a router and both pc's are connected to the internet but also can share files, well not when i boot linux yet as i don't know how it works with linux

use samba, comes with most distributions i know of and does the job.

if not you could also set up an ftp on the one of the machines and get to files that way, not ideal though.
