simple SNMP monitor

greetings LQers,

I'm looking for a super simple SNMP monitor.

I know something like this must exist, just haven't had any luck w/ google.

I want a command line monitor that sits waiting for a trap to be sent from an agent to this linux box. When a trap arrives at the box it just displays it and continues to wait for another.

Thanks in advance.

Steve

what do you mean "displays" it..? some webpage or something? if you're after something as simple as you suggest, i'd probably look at the sold faithful net-snmpd and have it just log to a file. then just tail the file, "tail -f /var/log/snmplogfile" and you'll permenantly get a rolloing window of traps recieved.
