Yes, you should to install a little software called routed (I'm not sure that is this name), this software you should install in the pc with FC5.

later, you should configure this daemon and... FINISH!!!.

but if you want surfing the net with the laptop, the pc with FC5 should be connected and online.

the second solution is:

buy a switch/router and conect each pc to a diferent switch port .

good luck

2 more options;

You can also install & configure squid for the same;

you can also configure your linux box to act as a router & with NATing you can forward all your requests over to internet.

Hi. I want to do exactly that, except that the other pc runs on Win98. I run SUSE 10.1. I have a PureData router, model RT-104+, and a DSL connection. When I try to connect through the router, I have no connection with neither machine.

Is it a firewall problem? I am new to this and have not messed with the original settings of the firewall.

Thanks for your help.

hi, sorry for the delay but I was on holiday

I think it should the NAT configuration problem, but it's very strange because the NAT default configuration of the router every works without any configuration

no, it isn't the firewall because the firewall default configuration gives conexions to each pc conected to the switch port...
