Setting up NIS Client

I am using Slackware 10 and Slackware 9
I am trying to setup a NIS Client.

My yp.conf file looks like this:
domain localdomain broadcast

I want it to read:
ypserver xxx.xxx.x.xx

everytime I reboot the file changes back to the original.
I even change the permissions on the file to read only and it keeps changing back to "domain localdomain broadcast"

Any suggestings?

I don't want to manually edit this file everytime I want access the NIS Server and this client machine get turned off every night.

i m using RH9, and RH Ente 3. don't why this is happening , may be a bug, or installation related error. but have a solution.

make changes in yp.conf and copy it to root's home directory,

open /etc/rc.d/rc.local or....... /etc/rc.local (don't remember correct path)
and then write down in new line

cp /root/yp.conf -f /etc/yp.conf

when ever you reboot ur client system it'll be ok
