My network has two PC’s, they are connected together with a Linksys four-port router and I get my Internet connection through a cable modem, which has dynamic IP addressing.

I have Windows 2000 server already installed on one of the computers, what I’m trying to do is set it up as the one and only server on my network.

While trying to setup the server using the configure your server I get this error:

“The operation failed with the following error:

The network location cannot be reached. For information about network troubleshooting, see Windows Help.”

I’m not sure what network location that it’s referring to.

The reason I’m doing this is I’m studying for the Network Plus certification.

Are you sure it's the right place to ask?
I'll guess it wants DNS. But it's only a guess.
