SANs with apache

Has anyone configured apache to have the web root be on a SAN? If so where did you get your guides or how did you do it?

Thanks

SAN = Storage Area Network.

If that's what you mean Apache wouldn't care. It only knows the directory and doesn't care whether that directory is part of a single drive partition, LVM, software RAID, hardware RAID or SAN.

If what you mean is you want to cluster Apache so two or more different nodes can use the same root you need to revise your question.

If SAN means something to you other than Storage Area Network you need to spell it out.

Thanks for the responce.

What I ment to ask was to have a cluster of apache servers on the edges that would share the same root on a SAN (Storage Area Network). How would I alter httpd.conf and other files such a Vhosts.conf so that the document root points to a SAN(Storage Area Network) and isn't local to that specific system.

Something like this, a reghat page on custer computing

I've never used a SAN, but you should be able to mount it to a specific path, and then just use that path as the web root. Whatever you use, just mount that device, eg: /dev/sdc on the right mountpoint so Apache can see it.
