samba question
I'm running fedore core 2, and I have a samba share set up on it for my windows xp boxes. I want it wide open (yah, I know, I want it that way. yes, I know it's insecure). My smb.conf file on that box is identical to the conf file on another linux box with a similar samba share, and it works beautifully. For some reason, on this box I still get a login/password prompt from windows when trying to get into the share. here's the smb.conf:
[global]
workgroup = boxes
netbios name = arsenal
hosts allow = 192.168.1. 192.168.2. 127.
security = share
[ paperarsenal ]
comment = whatever
path = /public
read only = no
writable = yes
guests ok = yes
browseable = yes
public = yes
the /public directory is drwxrwxrwx. What gives? I just know I'm missing something simple here..
