samba permissions issue? smb4k works, cli smbmount denies

i've successfully used the following to log on to remote samba box:
Code:
sudo smbmount //remote_box_name_or_ip/remote_acct $HOME/mnt/folder -o username=remote_acct,password=remote_acct_password,rw
this mounts the box locally and i can see the contents fine.

when i run a script (as user) though, i get a permission denied error.

if i use smb4k to log on to the same box, the script executes without
error.

is there something i need to add to my smbmount line to ensure access?
what have i missed?

thanks,
BabaG

removing sudo from the smbmount command seems to make it work. didn't
realize that smbmount could be run as user.
