Samba on fritz after MDK 9.2 Upgrade

I recently upgraded from MDK 9.1 to 9.2. I have the samba client package installed but when I go to configure a basic Samba network and Samba printing to the 98 boxes in the office (sadly have yet to get the boss to convert and the only printer in the office is connected to his machine and shared out) the Mandrake system configuration tool tells me that the client is not installed. I know I probably screwed something up in the upgrade but it is about time I learned the command line method for setting up Samba client connections and Samba printers. I know for a fact I have a working version of the Samba 2.2.8 client. Just need the proper syntax to connect this and the file to edit so the connections restore on reboot.
