Samba File Server

hi all,

I have home network with 4 windows computers, i want to set up a samba file server to store and share files with all of my computers on the network.

I got Samba install and running (using fedora core 3). But i have problem configure it like the way i wanted. I'm new to linux so please help me out with detail instruction.

I want the shared folder (XXXYYYZZZ) to be read/write only so anyone on the network can put stuff in that folder but they can't modify or delete it.

2. As a root/administrator i can log into the server via any windows computer on the network to make changes.

Thank you, please help me out i really need this samba file server.

-) check the file permissions on the data directory (chmod will fix any problems if you don't care for security)
-) verify smb.conf (e.g. read only = No)

how will that allow only an administrator to make changes? I thought it would be more complicate than just using chmod. I don't want anyone on the network to delete files acidentally, or purposely.

more help thanks
