Samba and XP

I am running Red Hat 7.1 with Samba. I am trying to access a share on the linux machine from a WinXP machine over a network connection. I have managed to get to the stage that the share shows up in Network Neighborhood, but when I try to access it there is an error message saying that a computer of the same name is already connected. This is not the case as I have double checked computer names. I have set Samba to Access = share and I believe that I have unencrypted passwords.
Any Suggestions please?

also, make sure that you turn on the encrypted passwords, Windows NT/2000 and up require this.
