I'm having trouble with a Samba server I've setup, I'm running on a SuSE 9.0 box, and have set up samba with a shared drive onto which we have installed an old Dos FoxPro database.

Everything is working fine, except when we access the FoxPro database. The first user can access the database without any problems, however the second user gets "Access Denied" when they open the database.

I have tried turning off OpLocks with no effect.

The only way I have found to get access for multi users is to turn off all locks, but obviously I'm concerned that this could lead to data corruption.

Most of the clients are win98. but the same happens on win2000 clients.

On the previous win200 server this app worked fine.

Any help most appreciated.

It would appear that "strict locking" was on, I have turned it off and am now getting better results.

The docs suggests that this is off by default, but on the 2 PCs I've checked it is infact on by default. One RedHat and one SuSE.
