Hello,
i really seem to get nowhere with samba, i what to make a network neigbourhood with my XP Pro and i also want to replace my MS DC with samba.
Is it difficult? Is there a good howto not 1000 pages but just strait and forward...
Maybe i should have put this in 2 different posts but it maybe similare in some ways.
Also, i am in front of my systems, they all boot in the 4 os for my tests (98, w2k server, xp pro and linux) so if someone can lead me into this, it can probably end up to be a very usefull thread.
Ok first i find a tutorial but the the last revision is april1999. But i think it can be a short and strait forward one.
Here, it is named SambaServer, Step-by-step guide: http://www.commentcamarche.com/ccmdo...?url=samba.pdf
Can someone tell me what they think of that tutorial?
Have you had no luck with setting up your Samba stuff through either SWAT or WEBMIN? I found these to be quite a nice way of doing it (I prefer Webmin).
