route -n, why this route?

Where did I get this route?

Destination,,, Gateway,,, Genmask,,, etc
169.254.0.0,,, 0.0.0.0,,, 255.255.0.0
127.0.0.0,,, 0.0.0.0,,, 255.0.0.0

How did my box get the 169.254.0.0 route?
I checked alot of the rc files but couldn't
figure it out. I don't have a lan card or
anything. Thought about doing: route -A inet del 169.254.0.0 but wasn't sure about it.
I'm running RH 9.0
Any tips??
Thanks,
Bob

You could remove the "169.254.0.0" route, this is the "default" ip address range your network card get when it can't get adress from DHCP. I knew there was a bug in old RH distribution about it, like the network card was always geting this at boot. It is useless, but make sure you doN,t remove any other route.
