rj-45 to rj-11

Im sorry to post this message here in a linux forum, but i think that you guys can probably help me out with this.

I have to make an UTP cable. On one end there has to be a rj-45 connector and on the other end a rj-11. Does anyone knows how to make one of these or where i can get some more info on how to make them???

I am intruiged (sp?) about this webpage. I have never seen a wiring diagram like that. Normally pins 1&2 are for TX a
nd pinds 3&6 are for RX or at least in Australia. Do you guys use a different standard?

Don't get me wrong I am not saying there is anything wrong with the description I am just curious. Also we typically use cat5 for all data cabling (and phone cabling nowadays)

I am not really sure what the rj-45 -> rj-11 cable in even for to be honest (in aus rj-11 = telehpone only) but I am curiuos

some vendors use pins 7&8 to provide p-o-e so some caution may be advised depending on what is being conencted.

I guess I should be asking Peyton Engel shouldn't I.

the rj-45 -> rj-11 is needed for an ADSL modem. The end on the wall needs an rj-45 plug, while the modem(and the splitter) needs an rj-11.
