RHEL 6.1 & Juniper VPN network connect

Hello everyone,

I hope someone can help me. I'm trying to launch a Juniper (network connect) VPN tunnelling from Firefox 3.6 (RHEL 6.1). Java is installed and it works. I can get through all the windows which ask if I trust the application and bla bla bla. At some point, the console window pops up and after 1 millisecond it goes away with no connection.....I've been looking for a solution for quite a while and I'm getting completely frustrated (especially considering that my old laptop with Ubuntu 10.10 has no problems at all....)

I found this possible solution:

http://mad-scientist.us/juniper.html

but I cannot find the package ncui-6.4-0.i386.rpm anywhere.

Can anyone help?
Thanks in advance!
Tommaso

Hi,

Cannot help you with the package, but I had a bit of a struggle using RHEL 6.1 Client and Juniper VPN network a while back.

You don't mention specifics, so here are the main things I ran into:

- xterm needs to be installed. You mention seeing all windows, are you sure about that? At one point a root password is asked, xterm is used to do this.
- using 32 bits RHEL 6.1 it works, using 64 bits it doesn't (well, to be more precise: I could not get it working).

Hope this helps.

Hello Druuna,

you're right, I forgot to mention that xterm is installed and the laptop is 64bits.....I got past the password request with no problems. After that, I see the control window appearing and going away straight after...

thanks anyway!
