reset (RST) packets in both directions

I'm trying to reproduce a situation I'm seeing in a TCP trace where RST packets are being sent from the sender to the receiver and visa versa.

Let's say I have an established connection between two hosts. Is there something I can do to recreate this situation? I've tried turning off eth0, yanking the cord, but both those just cause things to timeout, no RST's. I'm guessing the packet sequence got mucked in the trace I'm looking at, but I'm not sure how to force that to happen for testing purposes. Any ideas?

Thanks!

You could write a simple network server/client in PERL or Python and have each side reset on a certain condition, just off the top of my head... You might be able to create the situation with hping2, but it's been a long time since I looked at it so I can't recall whether it is possible for sure.
