remote connection???


I am using slackware 10.1 i just get a SMC wireless card and works greate... but know i would like to know how can i connect to my linux box from the college... I know that i have to use Putty.... and I have to do something like IP forwarding....but i have no clue how to do it.. i am really new in linux... any help.....

Install the OpenSSH server (or sshd) on your linux box. If your Linux box is behind a router or firewall, forward port 22 to your linux box. That's really all there is

do i have to set the router??? 'cause is not my router and i dont have access to it.... in fact i dont know where the router is.... i'm like "stealing signal"... i can acces to http://192.168.0.1 but it ask me for a user name and password...i tried the default but didn't work.... any ideas??? or i wont be able to conect to my linux box remotly....

If your linux box is behind a router, you will need to configure the router. If you're stealing signal, you're probably out of luck.
