Question Relation between Iptables and Ip route entries

Hey all,

I m using IPTABLES as my firewall to prevent some addresses and allow some.. Again, I m using IPTABLES for providing QoS to my router packets.. And moreover, I m again using IPTABLES for Port Triggering and Port Forwarding..

Now, I m using IP ROUTE for VPN functionality and also for Static Routing... I want to decide a flow for my packet and I want my packet to first see the firewall rules, then the Qos rules, then the VPN routes, then Static Routing routes and then finally the Port Triggering rules.. In short something like this

Firewall-->Qos-->VPN-->StaticRouting-->PortTriggering

I m unable to find any relation between IPTABLES and IP ROUTE which can help me do so bcoz first 2 parts are from IPTABLES and then 2 are using IP ROUTE and then IPTABLES again.. Pls help if anyone knows anything abt it..

Thanks..

I you want to get an answer, you will have to ask a sensible question. I struggle to understand what you are trying to do and what is or is not working.
It is unlikely that you will be able to modify the order in which the kernel handles packets, unless you have kernel programming skills. But then again if you had such skill you probably would know that the kernel is the way it is for a reason
